UrbanMop

Static site to dynamic mobile app for UAE cleaning services.

UrbanMop, a UAE cleaning-services brand, jumped from a static website to a dynamic mobile app on iOS and Android. The app leans into two distinct edges: lower prices for customers and reduced commissions for vendors, wrapped in a booking flow that's tap-fast.

// 02 · client / context

Who they are.

UrbanMop is a prominent cleaning service provider in the UAE. They built a reputation on responsive ground operations, but the digital experience was a static website that didn't scale with growing demand or differentiate them in a crowded market.

The brief: design a native mobile app that reflects the operational quality of the brand, makes booking faster than calling, and visibly highlights the two competitive moats — lower prices and lower vendor commissions.

// 03 · the problem

What needed solving.

A static site converts visitors into questions, not bookings. Phone and WhatsApp had become the de-facto booking channel — high friction for customers, expensive for ops, impossible to scale.

The competitive market in the UAE cleaning space had a noisy floor. UrbanMop needed an app that surfaced its price + commission edge without leaning on pure marketing copy, and gave vendors enough satisfaction with the platform to stay loyal.

Goals → Shipped
  • Replace phone/WhatsApp booking with a tap-to-book mobile flow
    Native iOS + Android booking app, 30+ screens covering customer + vendor + admin touchpoints
  • Surface the price + vendor-commission advantage in the UI itself
    Price-edge messaging baked into the booking confirmation, not just marketing pages
  • Single-screen pop-up for service / sub-service selection — no funnel sprawl
    Single-screen service / sub-service picker — picks resolved without a multi-step wizard
  • Performance-first: app must feel fast on mid-range UAE devices
    Lifestyle photography in place of animations to keep load + battery cost low and brand premium
  • Design system that scales beyond launch (provider app, dashboard)
    Tokenised design system shared across customer + vendor + future admin dashboards

// 07 · motion / interaction

How it moves.

  • Service-picker pop-up uses spring slide-up, not fade — feels like a card you've opened
  • Booking confirmation: subtle scale-pulse on the price chip to draw the eye to the saving
  • Tab transitions kept snappy (≤200ms) — performance over polish where they conflict
  • Reduced-motion respected end-to-end
